The event took place last July 4 and brought together collaborators from Enel X, Mercado, Energy and Commodity Management, and Enel partners in panels dedicated to spreading a culture of sustainability.
Sustainability is one of Enel Brasil's great pillars, as it is a fundamental part of our business's development. To address Enel's business strategies based on sustainability and its relationship with value creation for our products and services, last July 4, we promoted a day dedicated to the theme: Sustainability Day Brazil.
Enel X, Market and Energy, and Commodity Management teams attended the event. They discussed how, every day, we are more and more in demand by customers and society to reinforce a vision focused on sustainability when offering the solutions we provide, so we can respond to present and future challenges, leaving no one behind.
"The highlight of Sustainability Day Brazil was to show sustainability is not just a part of our business. It is our business and must show in all areas. Our core strategy shows this and in several actions already underway by our Group in Brazil, in products and services offered to our customers," says Ricardo Bomfim, head of Sustainability Initiatives and Circular Economy at Enel X, Enel Trading, Market, and Staff, the event's moderator.
Sustainability Day Brazil was divided into two panels. The first, "Our business is sustainable," was opened by Guilherme Lancastre, Enel Brasil's Chairman of the Board of Directors. Also present were the Sustainability Director of Enel X Global Retail, Nicola Tagliaferro; the Director of Enel X Brasil, Francisco Scroffa; the Head of Energy and Raw Materials Management of Enel Brasil, Matteo de Zan; the Market Head of Enel Brasil, Luiz Flavio Xavier; and the Sustainability Director of Enel Brasil, Marcia Massotti.
"The presence of Enel X Global Retail (Enel X, Market and Energy and Commodity Management) and the Chairman of the Board in Brazil reinforces senior management's commitment to make our business increasingly sustainable, inclusive and to promote a just energy transition," said Ricardo Bomfim.
In the panel "Sustainability as seen by our partners," two Enel partners participated, presenting their visions of society, universities, and governments. The talk was composed by Oswaldo Sanchez, from the Instituto de Investigaciones Tecnológicas (IPT) and Rodrigo Perpetuo, from the organization ICLEI - Gobiernos Locales por la Sostenibilidad (Local Governments for Sustainability).
