Iris Boeninger is an economist from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, recognized by Universidad de Chile. She holds a diploma in Corporate Governance from Harvard Business School made in IESE Business School in Barcelona. She studied as a political articulator. She has extensive experience and an outstanding track record in executive responsibilities, international relations, foreign trade, public services and diplomatic representations, among many other assignments.
She began her career in the Argentine forestry company Alto Paraná S.A., where she held the position of planning and finance manager for 17 years. She worked in PNUD programs. Also was General Manager of Seminarium Head Hunting Argentina.
In 1999 she was appointed representative of ProChile in Argentina, strengthening the commercial exchange between both nations, which led her to be appointed director of the institution, winned in a public contest, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2015 she was appointed director of Enel Distribución Chile, which she served for 3 years and 8 months. In parallel to her first board of directors, she joined the same role for the company ABECEB S.A. in Argentina. In 2018 she became member of the board of Banco Estado, receiving during that same year the appointment by the Chilean government to become the chilean ambassador to Uruguay, in a mission she carried out from 2018 to 2022.
Currently Iris Boeninger, is a member of the Advisory Council of the Latin American Center for Economic and Social Policies of the Catholic University (Clapes UC), is a partner of the International Women's Forum Chile and director of the Board of Directors Articuladores de lo Posible.
